FPRA Pensacola places a high priority on providing opportunities for public relations students including regular chapter meetings, networking, and student-only programming. 

If you are currently a full-time student enrolled at an accredited college or university and would like to join the Pensacola Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association, please fill out an application on the state's website.

FPRA Scholarship Program

FPRA offers scholarship opportunities to eligible student members on the state and local level. Three scholarships are awarded annually by the Pensacola Chapter, and additional scholarship opportunities are provided by the FPRA Foundation. To apply for scholarships from the Pensacola Chapter, look for a call for entries during the Spring academic semester. Students interested in applying for the state-level scholarship can download the FPRA scholarship eligibility requirements and application.

Campus Activities

The Pensacola Chapter conducts student happenings on the University of West Florida Pensacola campus and Emerald Coast location. For more information on FPRA-related campus activities, contact the FPRA student liaison, Niki Morgan at lnm29@students.uwf.edu.

Internship Opportunities

FPRA encourages public relations students to participate in internship programs to gain valuable hands-on experience. For a list of available internships, please contact Laura Kirby at lkirby@uwf.edu.

Immediate Past President

Sarah Whitfield is the public information officer for the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners. She is responsible for the dissemination of accurate and timely information to Santa Rosa County residents, the media and employees via traditional media and social media. Sarah has been with Santa Rosa County since 2010 after earning a bachelor's degree in art with a specialization in graphic design from the University of West Florida, starting out as a library assistant and eventually moving to the public information office in 2014 – the same year she joined FPRA and the Pensacola Chapter Board of Directors. 

Actively involved in her community, Sarah serves as a co-leader of the Living Truth Church Soul Sisters, acts as a buddy for kiddos with disabilities on Sundays and during monthly respite programs and nerds out with the church A/V team at least once a month. In her spare time, she enjoys perusing the latest The Office memes, taking too many photos of her two cats, coffee dates with friends and spending time with her family.
