Student Scholarships

Have a student intern? The FPRA Pensacola Chapter seeks to offer tuition assistance to students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Arts at the University of West Florida. Treasury permitting, four $500 scholarships will be awarded annually to deserving students: The Horace W. “Pete” Olcott Scholarship, the Lt. Colonel John W. Dillin, APR, CPRC Scholarship, the Scott R. Harrington, APR, CPRC Scholarship, and the Eileen Perrigo, APR Scholarship. Students must be members of FPRA and can join when they submit their scholarship application. It is $30 to join and the membership application can be filled out here. 2020 Communicator of the Year

The Communicator of the Year award is given to a public relations professional, whether members of FPRA or not, who demonstrates outstanding skills in any of the following categories: communicator for a non-profit/government organization, communicator for a for-profit organization or crisis communicator. A winner will be selected by an awards committee comprised of local media professionals who are not FPRA members. The winner will be announced and recognized at the April 23 Image Awards ceremony. Nominees must work in either Escambia or Santa Rosa County. Nominate an outstanding communicator today – nominations due March 23.

2020 Media Person of the Year

Nominate your 2020 Media Person of the Year. It should be a news media professional who has gone above and beyond to cover a story or get your press release published. It can be from any medium: newspaper, television, radio, online. Nominations are due by March 23. The winner will be recognized at the April 23 Image Awards ceremony.

2020 Rising PR Professional

The Rising PR Professional award is intended for public relations professionals who have been in the field for five years or less, whether members of FPRA or not, who demonstrate outstanding skills in any of the following categories: communicator for a non-profit/government organization, communicator for a for-profit organization or crisis communicator. A winner will be selected by an awards committee comprised of local media professionals who are not FPRA members. The winner will be announced and recognized at the April 23 Image Awards ceremony. Nominees must work in either Escambia or Santa Rosa County. Nominate a rising PR professional today - nominations due March 23.
